Research
interests focus on clinical and developmental issues relevant to at-risk
youth, including the development and treatment of antisocial behavior
and substance abuse, factors related to the adjustment of adolescent
parents, and the role of adolescent romantic relationships in development.
*As of September 1, 2008 Paul Florsheim will be moving to the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and will not be accepting graduate students applying to the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Utah. He will remain as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Utah and will continue to direct the Young Parenthood Program at the U of Utah. |

Interests |

Clinical Work:
Clinical work includes individual, couples, and family therapy with
adolescents. Specialization in substance abuse treatment and relationship-focused
therapy with pregnant/parenting teens and their partners. Practice
includes treatment for economically disadvantaged adolescents. Clinical
supervision for students working with adolescents in a variety of
contexts, including the Teen Mother and Child Program at the University
Hospital, Odyssey House, Wasatch Homeless Health, and the Department
of Psychology at the University of Utah
