Creativity of Interpersonal Communication in Infancy and Childhood
Dr. Alan Fogel, Dr. Ilse de Koeyer

Description: This study aims at investigating the changes that occur in emotional and social communication between the ages of 1-3 years. Mothers and their children are videotaped once every year, in several play situations. We are studying an Anglo-American and a Latino-American group. Therefore, Spanish-speaking research assistants are highly desired. Research assistants are needed for data collection (e.g., videotaping), and data entry. In addition, we will need research assistants who can be available for at least two semesters, to help us code "co-regulation" or creativity of the interactions in the videotapes

Infant Emotional Development using Case Studies
Dr. Alan Fogel

Description: This study will explore how infants use their bodies and faces to express emotion while interacting in playful situations with their mothers. Research assistants duties will involve assisting in developing the final stages of an observational coding system and then applying that coding system to videotapes of mothers interacting with their babies.
