The Diversity Committee's mission is to facilitate and maintain the
Department's commitment to diversity in research, teaching, and service.
This includes five specific functions:
Serving as a forum for diversity related issues;
Working to develop, establish, and maintain policies to increase minority and underrepresented populations representation in psychology;
Promoting the teaching and understanding of diversity;
Providing expertise for and promoting research that seeks to understand the meaning of diversity or particular phenomena across cultural groups, and
Serving as a support system for minority and underrepresented students and faculty in the Department. The Diversity Committee consists of three faculty members and an open number of graduate student representatives.
