Commitment - diversity

The Department of Psychology has a long history of commitment to diversity.
  1. In 1967, the Diversity Committee was established as a formal organization in the Department to promote minority issues and minority recruitment.
  2. In 1992, the Department created the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) to provide research experience and professional development training to underrepresented students in psychology.
  3. In 1998, the Department of Psychology was honored with a University of Utah Diversity Award in recognition of the Department's "leadership and commitment to enhance diversity and expand opportunities for students, faculty, and staff."
