    Dissonance Corner - 3410 home

We experience dissonance when two simultaneously held cognitions are inconsistent. In this case, the cognition, I want to be where the weather is nice and warm  is in conflict with the cognition that I am in Salt Lake City in the winter. If the weather is bad in Salt Lake City and nice in Hawaii, dissonance is high. If the weather is nice in both locations, dissonance is low.

But wait... Isn't it boring to be trapped on a small island? What about seasons?
