The steps for completing your application include:
1. Complete the attached application form.
2. Arrange to have one official copy of your transcript from each college you
attended sent to:

3. Arrange to have two letters of recommendation (using the attached "Recommendation Form for Senior Thesis Program") completed by professors who are able to comment on your qualifications for the Senior Thesis Program in Psychology, preferably a faculty member who has supervised your research work or was your instructor in a methods or statistics course. You should not request a recommendation from a non-academic person unless you have been away from an academic institution for some time. For the convenience of the person completing the recommendation form, you should provide a stamped envelope addressed to the address listed under Step 2. It is highly recommended that a letter accompany the Recommendation Form for Senior Thesis Program.
4. Enclose a personal statement in which you summarize your particular interest in psychological research. You may include information related to your education, work, and/or previous research experience as well as your vocational goals and any other appropriate information. The statement should not exceed 500 words (approximately 2 double-spaced typed pages.)
5. If you turn in your application in person, please bring it, with your personal statement attached, to the University of Utah’s Social and Behavioral Science Building, Room 507, by October 17, 2008. If you’d prefer to send your application and personal statement by mail, use the address listed above in step #2. |
