Note: The Psychology Department is using the College of Social Behavioral
Sciences Scholarship Application for our Departmental Scholarship.
Fill out the application and check all the College scholarships you
are eligible for and the Psychology Department will also consider
your application for the departmental scholarship if the application
is complete.

Two letters of recommendation are required and both letters MUST be
written on letterhead, the recommendation form is NOT required.
Applications are also available in the Psychology Advising Center,
507, (BEH S). All applications are due to the Departmental Office
(Psychology, 507Beh S) by February 9th at 4:00 p.m. - no late applications
accepted. Contact the Advising Center at 585-9095 with questions or
comments.
Psychology Department Scholarships are available to Transfer, Continuing
and Incoming Freshmen who are or will be majoring in Psychology. If
you are a continuing University of Utah student and have not declared
Psychology as your major please contact the Advising Center when you
submit your application.
- Must have Residency in the State of Utah.
- Recommended 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- Research and/or volunteer experience.
- Completed the College of Social Behavioral Sciences application
form. The application should include:
- The completed College of Social Behavioral Sciences application
form.
- A copy of a current transcript, including fall semester grades.
- A personal statement indicating
a) your plans and goals after completing
your college education
b) other factors you would like the selection
committee to consider (e.g., financial need, unique skills, etc.).
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Return completed application to Psychology Advising 507 BEH
S by above deadline.
(NOTE: The Psychology Department scholarships pay tuition up to 15
credit hours per semester; This DOES NOT include any mandatory fees
(lab fees, ASUU fees, etc.)
Aside from departmental scholarships and financial aid, there are
other forms of government and private support available to students.

Application
Form
The following scholarships may be awarded to any College of Social
and Behavioral Science student. Including any student with the following
majors: Anthropology, Behavioral Science and Health, Economics, Environmental
Studies, Family and Consumer Studies, Gender Studies, Geography, Political
Science, Psychology, Social Science Composite, and Sociology. These
applications are available in the Psychology Advising Center (507
BEH S) and due by February 9th at 4:00p to the PAC office - no late
applications accepted.
College of Social and Behavioral Science Honor Roll Scholarships -
Applicants must:
- be declared one of the above listed majors
- have a GPA of at least a 3.2
- have completed 30 credit hours
Kennecott Scholarships - Applicants must:
- be ranked in the top 10% of the major - 3.903 GPA is the current
top 10% requirement.
- have a GPA of at least a 3.2
- be declared one of the above listed majors
- be a full time student
Marie Gaby Scholarships - Applicants must:
- be minority status
- have a GPA of at least a 3.2
- have completed 30 credit hours
- be a full time student
Oakley J. Gordon Memorial Scholarships - Applicants must:
- be declared a major in one of the above listed departments
- have 7 years elapses since High School Diploma received
- demonstrate financial need
